For school families, the Scrip fundraising program is one of the ways to achieve the\u00a0$400 fundraising requirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

Scrip allows families\u00a0to buy gift cards for local merchants including Wal-Mart, Jewel, BP Oil, Buffalo Wild Wings, and Chili\u2019s to name a few.\u00a0 Every penny spent on the Scrip (gift) card is what is spent\u00a0at the retailer.\u00a0 This program will not cost anything extra except a little time for planning.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Great Lakes Scrip Center (GLSC) acts on behalf of Immaculate Conception School to purchase large amounts of Scrip from grocery stores, department stores, and other retailers. Because the Scrip is purchased with cash up front, the participating retailers offer a substantial discount. ICS buys the Scrip from GLSC at a discount, and re-sells the certificates to our members for full face value. The bulk of the discount – from two to fifteen percent or more – is retained by ICS as revenue.\u00a0 This revenue is applied toward each school family\u2019s fundraising requirement.<\/span><\/p>\n

There are\u00a0two ways to purchase Scrip cards.\u00a0 The first is through \u201cThe Scrip Store\u201d.\u00a0 The Scrip Store has retailer\u00a0cards\u00a0on hand for immediate purchase. \u00a0Cards are sold on a\u00a0 first come, first serve basis. ICS will do its best to stock according to demand and make adjustments as necessary. \u00a0The Scrip Store hours during the school year are Tuesdays and Thursdays inside the school office at the beginning of the school day.<\/span><\/p>\n

The second way to purchase Scrip is through scheduled orders at\u00a0www.shopwithscrip.com<\/a>\u00a0where Great Lakes Scrip Center\u2019s complete list of participating retailers is available. \u00a0An online account is needed. Please contact\u00a0Holly McNichols<\/a>\u00a0for the ICS enrollment code.\u00a0 The volunteers working The Scrip Store are also able to create an\u00a0online account or place scheduled orders.<\/p>\n

Online scheduled orders will be placed with GLSC on Wednesday at 9:00 a.m.\u00a0 The preferred method of payment is \u201cPresto-Pay\u201d which is a direct withdrawal from a checking account to GLSC.\u00a0 Presto-Pay needs to be set up on the\u00a0online account. It can take\u00a03-5 business days to be activated.\u00a0 There is\u00a0a $0.15 convenience fee per order. \u00a0Payment may also be made\u00a0by check or cash. \u00a0Checks are payable to ICS.\u00a0 Please have any\u00a0payment clearly marked for the\u00a0scrip order.\u00a0 It is important to have the payment in the school office by 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.\u00a0\u00a0If payment is not received and the\u00a0order includes a retailer which is rarely purchased, ICS\u00a0will NOT place the\u00a0order.<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 Notification\u00a0via email is sent when the\u00a0order is ready for pickup.<\/p>\n
